The Hoptown Hoppers split Saturday’s double header with the Owensboro Riverdawgs. Sunday, the Hoppers hit the road and traveled to Fulton for their matchup with the Railroaders.

The Hoppers found themselves in a hole early but received an offensive spark from Middle Georgia State teammates Blake Jackson and MJ Rookard to complete the rally and take the decision, 10-6.

Hoptown gave up one in the first and three in the second to face early trouble.

However, they answered with three in the third from a Blake Jackson dinger that also scored both John Michael Reed and Rookard.

Fulton grabbed a run in each of the fourth and fifth to extend their lead, 6-3.

But this time it was Rookard who lifted his team over the top.

In the top of the sixth, the veteran smoked a home run to also score Tyler Graham and Reed to tie it up.

Reed was then hit by a pitch in the seventh to take a 7-6 lead and Rookard followed suit with a 2-RBI single that scored Graham and Max Remy.

In the ninth, Davis Keller added a RBI-single to score Cummings before Hoptown closed the deal.

Jaxon Herchenbach went six complete innings to earn the win. Hayden Fox took the loss.

Jackson went 2-5 for a single and HR to drive in three and score a run. Rookard went 2-4 for a single and HR as well but managed to drive in a season-high five and score two runs.

The Hoppers improve to 17-14 with the win and will host the Paducah Chiefs Monday night in a significant division game.

First pitch is set for 7 P.M.
