A tough loss for the Kentucky Prospects in the championship game of a summer baseball event held over the weekend at Austin Peay State University. The Prospects won their first game on the final day Sunday, defeating Cross Hit Black 17U 8-5, as the Prospects scored in all but one of their at bats.
In the championship game, the Prospects fell in ten innings to Rawlings Prospects SE 6-5. Earlier in the weekend, Rawlings had defeated the Prospects 9-7.
In the first game Sunday, UHA’s Drew McGowan went 2-3 with 2 runs scored and 2 RBI’s. Christian County’s Lane Diuguid was 1-3 with a run scored. And, Trigg County’s Riley Stallons was 0-1 with 2 walks and a run scored.
McGowan started the game on the mound for the Prospects, going five innings, giving up four runs on four hits, striking out 8 and walking three.
In the championship game, McGowan went 1-6 with two runs scored. Diuguid was 1-4 with a walk. And, Stallons was 0-1. Stallons pitched 1/3 of an inning, giving up one hit.
