A former Christian County tennis coach is headed for a change in locations and a change in sports. Dale Adkins announced late Friday night that he would be taking the job as head volleyball coach at Franklin County High School, in Frankfort.
It was at the end of April that Adkins told YourSportsEdge that he would not be returning next season to lead the program, as he had been notified by school officials that his teaching contract would not be renewed for the 2018-2019 school year.
Adkins spent 4th year at the helm of the Colonels and Lady Colonels tennis programs. He started in the position with four tennis players on the teams, and left the program with 20 players finishing out the 2018 season.
Franklin County finished the 2017 season with a record of 8-29. They were runner-ups in the 41st district, losing in the opening round of the 11th Region tournament to Lexington Henry Clay.
