Trigg County overcame a slow start to stay unbeaten in district play with a 5-1 softball win at Livingston Central Thursday.
Hannah Colbert kept the Livingston Central batters at bay during early part of the game. She scattered six hits and struck out 13 batters while walking just two.
Trigg County scored the first run of the game in the fourth inning when Autumn Durham singled and scored on an Adri Phillips double.
Colbert’s RBI single in the fifth inning scored Phelan Dossett for a 2-0 Trigg lead,
In the sixth inning, Trigg County created some breathing room when Ashlyn Keller doubled home Durham. Two
Livingston errors plated two more Lady Wildcat runs for a 5-0 lead.
Livingston Central (0-5, 0-1) scored their only run in the sixth inning on a Victoria Harris RBI double.
Trigg County got two hits apiece from Durham, Phillips, and Kara Southwood.
The Lady Wildcats (9-6, 2-0) will host their Lady Wildcat Invitational Friday and Saturday at the Complex. Trigg County will play Fort Campbell Friday at 5pm and Obion County, TN at 8pm.
