Madisonville scored early and often in claiming an 11-1 five-inning win over Hopkinsville Tuesday at Elmer Kelley Stadium in Madisonville.
The Maroons scored four in the first and three more in the second inning in jumping out to a 7-1 lead over the Tigers.
Madisonville added four more runs in the fifth inning, with the final run coming on one of five Hoptown errors in the contest. Only six of Madisonville’s 11 runs in the contest were earned.
John Duvall had two of Hopkinsville’s five hits and drove in their only run in the first inning.
Ethan Browning had four singles for Madisonville (5-2), who also got two hits and two RBIs from Jon Hogart and a double and three RBIs from Cole Lawrence.
Hopkinsville (4-5) hosts Fort Campbell in a district doubleheader Wednesday at Tiger Stadium.
