Corey Stubbs became a starter for Christian County’s football team as a junior as has parlayed that into the chance to continue his athletic career at Kentucky Wesleyan College in Owensboro. Stubbs made it official at a signing ceremony at the school Tuesday.
Stubbs had a breakout season for the Colonels as a defensive back in 2017, picking off four passes and returning two of those for touchdowns. He also recorded a sack, forced a fumble, and recovered a fumble from his defensive back position.
His 32 tackles were among the team leaders in the Colonel secondary. That led him to being named to the All Western Kentucky Conference team and a chance to play in the Best of the Bluegrass All-Star Football Game.
Stubbs joins Colonel teammates Shemar Foster and Diion Leavell in joining the Kentucky Wesleyan football team.
