Hopkinsville’s Mary Poe has qualified for the KHSAA State Archery Tournament after a seventh-place finish at the region meet Saturday at Henderson County High School.
Poe shot a 285 to finish in seventh place. She was the third and final individual qualifier. Trigg County and Webster County each qualified their team. The next three individual archers not from Trigg and Webster also qualified.
As a team, Hopkinsville finished in fourth place with their top seven archers totaling 1,911 points. Trigg County (1,965) and Webster County (1,942) were the top two teams.
Other Hoptown archers competing at the region tournament were Lanie Brumfield (275, 22nd), Samantha Cordle (274, 25th), Katie Little (273, 30th), Juliana Gregory (268, 40th), Rayne Porter (268, 41st), Noella Tucker (268, 43rd), Shelby Sparks (267, 45th), Sadie Bumgardner (260, 53rd), Grace Goode (259, 59th), Lauren Fleming (235, 84th), and Rebecca Phipps (212, 91st).

After five years of combining genders to comprise one total school score and one total state champion, the KHSAA voted last year to divide archery by gender.
Poe will compete in the KHSAA State Tournament April 26 in Lexington. This year will mark the first gender-specific state championships.
