
The Murray State softball team was shutout by Southern Illinois, 8-0 in six innings, in the final game of the 2018 Coach B Classic Sunday at Charlotte West Stadium in Carbondale, Illinois. Murray State was only able to muster five hits in the game, with Jensen Striegel, Lillie Goetz, Jenny Homann, Erika Downey and Sierra Gilmore all coming up with singles in the contest.
Olivia Suski took the loss for Murray State by allowing two earned runs on three hits over two-thirds of an inning.
Next weekend, Murray State will open its home slate with the second annual Racer Classic. The six-team, 14-game tournament will feature the Racers, Evansville, Kent State, Illinois-Chicago, Oakland and Rhode Island.
