Crittenden County made history Friday when their girls’ basketball team beat Livingston Central 46-23 to win the Fifth District title in Marion. The win, coupled with the boys’ district title on Thursday, gave the school their first district sweep in school history. It also marked the first time the Lady Rockets have won back-to-back district titles.
Madison Champion scored 20 points and grabbed six rebounds, while Mauri Collins and seventh grader Taylor Guess each scored 10 points. Champion also passed the 1,000 career point mark in the game.
Tabby Padon had 12 points and 12 rebounds for Livingston Central, who scored the fewest points in a Fifth District championship game.
Both Crittenden County (15-13) and Livingston Central (14-15) will advance to the Second Region Tournament that begins Monday at Webster County.
