VIDEO – Caldwell County Hosting West Kentucky Hoops Fest

Caldwell County is playing host to 14 games over the next two days as part of the West Kentucky Hoops Classic on the campus of the school. There will be seven games played on Thursday and seven more on Friday.

Play opens Thursday at 11:00 with a pair of girls’ games. Caldwell County (6-3) will play Ballard Memorial (7-3) in the opener. It’s the first meeting in 10 years between the schools, with Caldwell winning at Ballard Memorial’s tournament 56-53 in 2007.

At 12:30, Calloway County’s girls (8-3) will play Corinth, MS. (6-6)

The boys begin play at 2:00 Thursday when Corinth, MS (5-7) plays Dyersburg, TN (8-3).

The ladies return at 3:30 as Ballard Memorial meets Calloway County. Calloway beat the Lady Bombers 64-50 last year.

Two prep schools square off at 5:00 as St. Louis Academy, MO plays Westridge Academy, NC. Both schools feature 6-10 players on their respective front lines.

At 6:30, Aspire Academy of Louisville plays Cy Fair Learning Center. Aspire features 6-11 junior Charles Bassey, one of the nation’s most sought-after players.

At 8:00, the Caldwell County Tigers (5-5) make their debut as they play Memphis Ridgeway (5-2). The Tigers won two of three games last week at Butler County.

On Friday, Caldwell County’s Lady Tigers open the day at 11:00 against Calloway County. The Lady Lakers beat Caldwell 61-33 in a game played at Murray High School.

At 12:30, Ballard Memorial plays Corinth in a girls’ game.

The guys return to the court at 2:00 when Cy Fair Learning Center plays St. Louis Academy.

At 3:30, Caldwell County’s Lady Tigers play their second game of the day when they host Corinth, a team they beat 56-53 in overtime last year.

Ridgeway and Corinth meet in a boys’ game at 5:00 followed by Westridge Academy and Aspire Academy at 6:30.

The Caldwell County Tigers close out the event at 8:00 when they play Dyersburg.

Tickets to the event are $7 a day or $12 for a two-day pass. Caldwell County students are admitted free.
