University Heights Academy will try and snap a three-game losing streak when the Lady Blazers begin play Tuesday in the Warren East Holiday Hoops Classic. UHA will play Monroe County at 1pm in the middle school gym at Warren East.
Monroe County is 3-3 and, like UHA, will be looking to snap a three-game losing streak. The main focus for the UHA defense will be senior guard Ashley Gearlds, who is averaging 15.8 points and 5.6 rebounds a game. Junior guard Grace Turner is scoring 10.8 points a contest.
If UHA wins Tuesday, they will play the winner of Glasgow (5-2) and Christ Presbyterian Academy, TN (5-3) Wednesday at 5pm in the high school gym. A loss sends them into the consolation bracket where they would play Wednesday at 5pm in the middle school gym.
The upper bracket has Russellville (0-6) playing Metcalfe County (2-5) Tuesday at 1pm and Warren East (4-4) hosting Caverna (1-7) at 5pm.
The tournament will conclude on Thursday.
