Collegiate basketball is coming to visit the 101st Airborne Division. The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell, in partnership with Austin Peay State University, will host the first-ever college basketball game on the military installation, Wednesday, at Shaw Physical Fitness Center. The APSU Governors will face off against the Bethel University Wildcats. Tip-off is set for 3pm.

This contest is also the Govs’ first home basketball game away from the Dunn Center since its opening in 1975. Seating at Shaw Physical Fitness Center is limited to approximately 1,400 spectators and available on a first-come, first-served basis. Admission is free for APSU students and fans, as well as service members and their families.

This is not the first time the Govs have competed at Fort Campbell. In 2014, APSU football played its Spring Game at Fryar Stadium during then-Governors Stadium’s renovations. The football team also played its annual Charity Bowl against a regimental all-star team from Fort Campbell from 1954-1964 at then-Municipal Stadium. Competitions between APSU and other regimental units from the installation also took place during the pre- and early post-World War II era.
