
The Lyon County girls’ basketball team posted a 19-11 record last season, including a loss to Crittenden County in the 5th District championship game. The Lady Lyons’ season ended with a loss to Webster County in the first round of the 2nd Region tournament, their sixth straight season without a regional tournament win.
Third leading scorer and fourth leading rebounder Allison Ellis (6.6 points, 3.1 assists) graduated, along with fourth leading scorer and third leading rebounder Terrianna Johnson (6.2, 4.5) and fifth leading scorer and fourth leading rebounder Jenna White (6.1, 3). Coach Jeff Doom will begin his eighth season looking to replace the Lady Lyons’ backcourt scoring and leadership.
Lyon County returns their two leading scorers and rebounders, junior Allison Murphy (12.6 points, 9.1 rebounds) and senior Hannah Holloman (9.5, 7.2). Also, senior Sophie Bingham returns to the team after a couple of years away, and freshman Calista Collins will be counted on to contribute.
The Lady Lyons open their season November 28th on the road against long-time rival Caldwell County, after splitting with the Lady Tigers last season.
