The 2017 season was a historic one for the Todd County Central girls’ soccer team, as they captured their first ever 13th District championship, in route to a 10-6-2 record. The Lady Rebels scored 41 goals and allowed 49, before losing 10-0 to Greenwood in the first round of the 4th Region Tournament.
The bad news for the Lady Rebels is they graduate 9 seniors, many of whom were instrumental in the team’s success. The top two scorers, Alexis O’Daniel (19 goals) and Maddye Drummond (12 goals) are gone, along with goalkeeper Addye Sawyers (4 shutouts). Drummond also led the team in assists with 13.
The Lady Rebels are set for a sizeable rebuild, but will hope to defend their district title. Amy Brumfield returns after posting the second most assists (7) on the team, but many positions will be up for grabs when practice begins in the summer.
