The Hopkinsville boys’ soccer team enjoyed a banner 2017, posting a 19-5-1 record and scoring a state record 157 goals while only allowing 36.  The Tigers kept a state ranking throughout the year, winning their third straight 8th District championship and second consecutive 2nd Region title.  Their season ended with a heartbreaking shootout loss to Warren Central in the state tournament round of 16.

The bad news for the Tigers is much of that team consisted of an 11-man senior class that will need to be replaced.  Led by 1st Team All State Ethan Noel, Honorable Mention All State Caleb Joiner, and Tyler Aldridge, the 2017 seniors have set the bar incredibly high for Tiger teams to come.

While most programs would be firmly in rebuilding mode after the loss of so many seniors, the Tiger cupboard is far from bare.  2nd Team All State junior Ryan Roussel returns, along with sophomore Mason Rye and goalkeepers Ethan Bailey and Xavier Bussell.  In addition, significant young talent remains, ready to step up after waiting their turn behind one of the strongest classes in Hopkinsville program history.
