Caldwell County has the path they wanted in their attempt to win their first region title in six seasons. The Lady Tigers now have to take care of business on the court. Caldwell opens play Tuesday at 7:00 against Webster County in the quarterfinals at Trigg County’s Wildcat Gym.
Caldwell (25-9) and Webster (15-20) did not meet during the regular season.
Caldwell County has the decided edge in postseason experience, going 3-3 in the region tourney the past three seasons. Webster County is making their second-ever region tourney appearance. They lost to UHA in the first round last year.
Caldwell County and Henderson County are the only two teams to post unbeaten records against Second Region opponents. Caldwell was 15-0, while Webster County was 11-7.
Tuesday’s winners will meet in Wednesday’s semifinals.
