For the Fort Campbell Falcons to have a shot at upsetting the Caldwell County Tigers Friday night, several things needed to go right. Bringing in their emergency quarterback was not one of the items on that list.
Already missing their starting quarterback Ahmon Williams, the Falcons lost backup quarterback Abdel Howard on the first offensive series of the night, and things took a serious downward turn from there. Julian Roberts, normally a running back for the Falcons was called in to do emergency quarterback duty.
After being forced to punt on their first series of the game, the Caldwell County Tigers got thing rolling in the first half, leading 48-0 at the break. It was a short night for the Caldwell County starters, as they were out of the game before the half.
A big night for quarterback Joby Jaggers, as he threw first half touchdowns of 41, 55, and 65 yards. Trel Riley had two first half touchdowns for the Tigers, a 55-yard reception and a 70-yard punt return.
With the Caldwell County reserves playing in the second half, the Fort Campbell Falcons got some offense rolling. Junior running back Jahcore Brown had two touchdowns, while senior Denoris Buchanan had the other.
The loss officially eliminated Fort Campbell from playoff contention, while the win locked up the district championship and the top seed in the playoffs for Caldwell County.
