Just two days after Rick Pitino was placed on unpaid administrative leave at the University of Louisville, the Cardinals have a new coach, at least for this season, to guide them. Interim U of L President Dr. Greg Postel announced Friday afternoon that Cardinal assistant David Padgett would guide the team for the 2017-2018 season.
During a news conference Postel also announced that U of L expected to name an interim athletic director next week.
In his comments, Padgett said he was taking the job “for the players” and that he could not comment on the ongoing FBI investigation.
