Emma Talley returned to an Alabama golf course where she played frequently growing up, but it didn’t equal a good finish Sunday. Talley missed the cut at the Symetra Tour’s Guardian Championship in Prattville, Alabama and slipped to ninth place on the money list.
Talley shot a 73 on both days to finish with a score of 2-over. That wasn’t the only trouble for the Princeton golfer. The three players ranked immediately behind Tally all finished in the top five at the event. Both Lindsey Weaver and Yu Liu jumped ahead of Talley on the money list. The top 10 golfers on the money list receive their LPGA Tour Card for 2018.
But the news isn’t all doom and gloom for Talley. She still sits $11,355 ahead of 11th place Sophia Popov and $11,616 ahead of 12th place Katelyn Dambaugh.
There are just two events left on the Symetra Tour schedule, including next weekend’s stop at the IOA Golf Classic in Longwood, Florida. The season concludes with the $200,000 Symetra Tour Championship Oct. 5-8 in Daytona Beach, Florida.
