Here are the YourSportsEdge.com 2nd Region girls’ soccer rankings.

1. Henderson County Lady Colonels (7-1-2)

The Lady Colonels hold on to the top spot again this week after posting two wins and a draw last week.  Henderson beat 5th ranked Hopkinsville 11-3 last week at the Stadium of Champions and got a 0-0 road draw with Evansville Mater Dei.  The Lady Colonels begin the week with a road match with 9th ranked Webster County (3-4), before hosting Owensboro (5-4-1) on Thursday and travelling to Indiana on Saturday to face Castle and Evansville North.

2.  University Heights Academy Lady Blazers (5-1)

The Lady Blazers began the week with a 4-1 road win over Ohio County (6-4), before suffering their first loss of the season, 9-2 to the 7-1 Bowling Green Purples.  UHA play a pair of 2nd Region teams this week, beginning with 5th ranked Hopkinsville (4-4) at the Stadium of Champions followed by a return trip to the Stadium to face 13th ranked Christian County (1-7) on Thursday.  The Lady Blazers will wrap up the week with a trip to face 4-4 South Warren on Saturday.

3.  Caldwell County Lady Tigers (5-4)

The Lady Tigers move up a spot this week after a big 1-0 win over 4th ranked Madisonville-North Hopkins (4-2-2) at Butler Stadium.  Their week ended with a lopsided 7-0 loss to a strong Daviess County team (9-2), and the Lady Tigers will hit the field at home on Monday looking for a win over Paducah Tilghman (1-7) to wash away the memory of that loss.  On Thursday, Caldwell will have an opportunity for another regional win when they travel to Morton’s Gap to take on the 6th ranked Hopkins County Central Lady Storm (4-2-1).

4.  Madisonville-North Hopkins Lady Maroons (4-2-2)

The Lady Maroons move up a spot this week in spite of a 1-0 loss at 3rd ranked Caldwell County (5-4) last week.  Madisonville bounced back with a 7-2 win at home over 10th ranked Fort Campbell (2-6).   The Lady Maroons won’t face any 2nd Region teams this week, travelling to Ohio County (6-4) and then hosting the Lady Donley Classic on Saturday.

5.  Hopkinsville Lady Tigers (4-4)

Hopkinsville drops two spots this week after a pair of losses last week.  The Lady Tigers lost on the road 7-0 to Marshall County (7-3-1) and before dropping a home match with top ranked Henderson 11-3.  The Lady Tigers will look to bounce back on Monday and Tuesday against a pair of 2nd Region opponents, hosting 2nd ranked UHA (5-1) and heading to post for a match-up with 10th ranked Fort Campbell (2-6).

6.  Hopkins County Central Lady Storm (4-2-1)

The Lady Storm fared well against 2nd Region competition last week, pounding 11th ranked Crittenden County 10-1 and letting a lead slip and drawing 3-3 on the road with 7th ranked Trigg County (4-3-1).  Hopkins Central have four matches coming up this week, beginning with a home game with 8th ranked Union County (6-3) on Monday, followed by a Tuesday trip to Paducah to play St. Mary (5-5).  Two more regional opponents await to wrap up the week, hosting 3rd ranked Caldwell County (5-4) on Thursday and a Saturday trip to Dixon to face 9th ranked Webster County (3-4).

7.  Trigg County Lady Wildcats (4-3-1)

After four straight wins, the Lady Wildcats’ only match last week was a 3-3 draw with 6th ranked Hopkins County Central at the Recreation Complex.  Trigg has three matches this week, beginning with a home district tilt on Monday against 12th ranked Lyon County (2-7).  Tuesday brings another home 2nd Region challenge against the 13th ranked Christian County Lady Colonels (1-7), and they’ll end the week with a boy/girl varsity doubleheader against Mayfield (1-6) at home on Thursday.

8.  Union County Bravettes (6-3)

Union enjoyed an easy week with only one match, cruising past 1-7-1 McLean County 5-0 on the road.  Another light week is on tap for the Bravettes, although the competition in their one match will be much tougher.  The Bravettes travel to Morton’s Gap on Monday to face 6th ranked Hopkins County Central (4-2-1).

9.  Webster County Lady Trojans (3-4)

Webster County only played one match last week, but it was a 3-1 win against the 2nd Region’s 11th ranked team, the Crittenden County Lady Rockets (3-5).  The Lady Trojans will have their hands full on Monday when they welcome top ranked Henderson County (7-1-2) to Dixon, before a trip to face Muhlenberg County (4-2-2) on Tuesday.  Webster’s last match of the week is a home match on Saturday against 6th ranked Hopkins County Central (4-2-1).

10.  Fort Campbell Lady Falcons (2-6)

The Lady Falcons jumped two spots this week on the strength of a 6-0 road win against 13th ranked Christian County (1-7).  A 7-2 road loss to 4th ranked Madisonville-North Hopkins (4-2-2) came later in the week, but the Lady Falcons had still done enough vault over Crittenden County (3-5) and Lyon County (2-7).  Fort Campbell will host a pair of matches this week, beginning with 5th ranked Hopkinsville (4-4) on Tuesday and Todd County Central (5-1-1) on Thursday.

11.  Crittenden County Lady Rockets (3-5)

The Lady Rockets went 1-2 last week, losing 10-1 at 6th ranked Hopkins County Central (4-2-1) and 3-1 at home to the 9th ranked Webster County Lady Trojans (3-4).  Crittenden did close out the week with a home 4-3 shootout win over 12th ranked Lyon County (2-7), avenging a 2-1 loss to the Lady Lyons earlier in the season in All “A” competition.  On Monday, the Lady Rockets welcome 13th ranked Christian County (1-7) before the 2-6 Ballard Memorial Lady Bombers pay a visit on Thursday.

12.  Lyon County Lady Lyons (2-7)

The Lady Lyons drop two spots this week after squeaking out a 2-1 road win at Ballard Memorial (2-6) and losing a 4-3 shootout to the 11th ranked Crittenden County Lady Rockets (3-5).  Lyon will open the week on Monday with a chance to gain back the ground they lost if they can get a win at 7th ranked Trigg County (4-3-1).  They’ll be on the road again Tuesday to face the Mayfield Lady Cardinals (1-6).

13.  Christian County Lady Colonels (1-7)

The Lady Colonels struggled last week, being shutout twice in as many games.  10th ranked Fort Campbell came to the Stadium of Champions on Tuesday and left with a 6-0 win, before Owensboro slipped out of Hopkinsville with a 2-0 win Wednesday.  The opportunity is there for the Lady Colonels to make a big move in the standings, as they have three matches against regional competition this week.  On Monday they travel to face 11th ranked Crittenden County (3-5) and then go on the road again Tuesday to take on 7th ranked Trigg County (4-3-1).  The toughest test of the week will come on Thursday when 2nd ranked UHA (5-1) visits the Stadium of Champions.
