A former member of the Austin Peay State University golf team has been recognized for his skills both on and off the golf course. APSU men’s golfer Erik Hedberg was named a Division I Srixon/Cleveland Golf All-America Scholar for the 2016-17 season. Hedberg was one of 260 Division I men’s golfers to earn this distinction.
In his final campaign as a Governor, Hedberg put together a pair of top-five finishes at the Skyhawk Classic and the Missouri Tiger Invitational. Twelve of Hedberg’s 31 rounds came in at par or better, including at least one round in seven of Hedberg’s 11 tournament appearances.
Hedberg averaged 74.65 strokes per round in his final campaign, with a low round 69 in the final round at the Tiger Invitational.
Academically, Hedberg was a six-time member of the AD Honor Roll, five-time member of the Dean’s List, and twice earned a spot on the President’s List.
