Kentucky fans got their first look at the 2019-20 basketball team against someone other than the blue and white Sunday as the Wildcats beat Georgetown College 80-53 in an exhibition at Rupp Arena.

UK shot 55-percent from the field in the first half in building a 43-25 lead. They led by as many as 29 points in the second half. The Wildcats shot 49-percent from the field but were outrebounded 45-39.

Four Wildcats scored in double figures led by Immanuel Quickley’s 16 points. Ashton Hagans added 14 points, six assists, and four steals. Freshman Tyrese Maxey added 11 points, and graduate transfer Nate Sestina had 11 points and 10 rebounds.

Jake Ohmer, the Western Kentucky graduate who played in Rupp Arena when he led Scott High to the Sweet 16, led all scorers with 25 points.

Kentucky will host Kentucky State in its final exhibition Friday at Rupp Arena before playing No. 1 Michigan State a week from Tuesday in the State Farm Champions Classic at New York’s Madison Square Garden.
