Cory Trice had a breakout game for Purdue Saturday in their 40-14 thumping of Maryland. The former Christian County standout had the first two interceptions of his college career, returning one for a touchdown.
Trice stepped in front of a Tyrrell Pigrome pass and returned it down the left sideline 37 yards for a touchdown that put the Boilermakers ahead 29-14 with 18 seconds left in the first half.
Trice’s second pick came in the second half when he corralled a tipped pass in Terrapin territory.
The redshirt freshman led Purdue with six tackles Saturday and has 12 in his last two games. He also had a pass break-up.
Purdue (2-4) will play at Iowa Saturday.
