Princeton Golf Club will host a Birdies for Brownie Benefit Golf Scramble on Friday, Oct. 11.
The event will raise money for the family of Cullan Brown, the former Lyon County High School golf star who has been diagnosed with osteosarcoma, a form of bone cancer, in his left thigh.
Treatment requires chemotherapy and surgery.
Brown was set to start his sophomore season at the University of Kentucky after a stellar freshman campaign with the Wildcats golf program.
The golf tournament in Princeton will begin at 12:30 p.m. on Oct. 11 with a shotgun start. Lunch will be served at 11 a.m. that day.
Cost is $320 per four-person team, which includes one mulligan per player.
Cash prizes will be given to the first, second and third-place teams.
The event will also include a silent auction with several items available.
To register for the tournament, contact Brandy Knoth at 270-625-4285 or email brandyknoth@yahoo.com.
The 2019-20 UK men’s golf team is using the hashtag #B4B this season to honor their teammate as their team slogan. It stands for “Birdies for Brownie,” and it has been stitched on the team’s clothing and hats.
