Christian County won a pair of matches over the weekend at the Bluegrass State Games in Lexington.
The Lady Colonels began the games in a Friday pool with Ballard and Logan County. Christian County opened the day losing in straight sets to Logan County 14-21 and 14-21. The Lady Colonels finished their first day of pool play with a tough three-set loss to Ballard 21-18, 7-21, and 5-15.
The second day of pool play Saturday found the Lady Colonels in a pool with Montgomery County, East Carter, and Scott High. The Lady Colonels opened the day falling to Scott 14-21 and 6-21. Christian County rebounded with a win over East Carter in a three-set battle, 21-18, 16-21, and 16-14. The Lady Colonels wrapped up Saturday pool play with a another three-set match, winning over Montgomery County 21-15, 16-21, and 15-10.
The results of their pool play on Friday and Saturday placed the Lady Colonels in the Flight 6 bracket on Sunday. Christian County’s appearance in the games came to an end with a straight set loss to Newport Central Catholic.
