Lyon County Post 68 rode the one-hit pitching of Brady Betts to a 10-0 win over Owensboro Post 9 in five innings on Thursday.
The win moves the Post 68 Aces into the winner’s bracket final at the American Legion State Tournament, which is being played this week at Jim Boyd Field at Lee S. Jones Park in Eddyville.
Lyon County (13-5-1) will play again at 5:30 p.m. Friday. A win in that game would move Post 68 into the championship round on Saturday at 5:30 p.m.
Betts needed just 56 pitches to earn the win. The Paducah Tilghman product struck out four and did not walk a better.
A six-run second inning was more than enough offensive support as Lyon County rolled to the mercy-rule victory.

Brennon Williams doubled to lead off the fifth inning for the only hit for Owensboro.
