Second Region champion Madisonville is among the 12 Kentucky teams invited to participate in the King of the Bluegrass Basketball Tournament.
The Maroons, who were 30-6 last year, are in the KOB for the second straight year. They finished 2-2 in the event last year, with wins over Fairdale and Brentwood Academy, Tenn.
Madisonville is considered the preseason region favorite with the return of All-State players Kenny White and K’Suan Casey.
Other teams in the field include defending state champion Trinity, Male, Ballard, Clay County, Collins, Fairdale, LaRue County, McCracken County, North Oldham, Sheldon Clark, and South Oldham.
The King of the Bluegrass will be played Dec. 19-23 at Fairdale High School.
