Austin Keeling etched his name into the Fort Campbell track and field record book Friday with a first-place finish in the triple jump at the Area 1 Championships in Paducah.

Keeling’s mark of 46-feet and a half-inch in the triple jump broke the 17-year-old record set by Jamaine Gordon (45-10).  Keeling already holds the school’s second-best length in the long jump (22-1.5) and third-best in the high jump (6-4).

Fort Campbell’s girls finished seventh with 50.5 points, while the guys put together a fourth-place finish with 66 points.
