A tough evening on the softball field Friday night for the UHA Lady Blazers as they ran into a bunch of hot hitting Cougars. McLean County made the trip to Hopkinsville and left with a 20-2 win over the Lady Blazers.
McLean County scored in every at bat, except for the first inning in the five inning contest. Their offensive attack was capped off with a nine run inning in the top of the fifth to close out the contest.
The Lady Blazers briefly took the lead in the game scoring a run in the bottom of the first inning off a Lady Cougar error. McLean County responded by scoring the next 20 runs of the game, with three in the second, three in the third, five more in the top of the fourth, and nine runs in the 5th inning to finish out the onslaught.
Regan Pollard paced the way for the Lady Blazers, going 1-3 with a run scored.
UHA is set to return to action Tuesday at Dawson Springs.
