Heritage Christian Academy’s Weston Powell struck-out ten and Josh Jones drove-in 4 runs Friday to help the Warriors to an 11-1 victory over visiting Hendersonville Christian Academy.  The undefeated Warriors are ranked first in the KCAA Power Poll, with a home match-up with Franklin Road Christian School scheduled for Saturday.

Josh Jones doubled to drive-in 2 runs in the bottom of the first, before coming home on a wild pitch for a 3-0 Warrior lead.

In the bottom of the second, HCA starting pitcher Weston Powell helped himself with a double that brought in Miki Venable and Elijah Britton to stretch the advantage to five runs.

The Crusaders loaded the bases in back-to-back innings, but Powell worked out of trouble in the third and yielded a single run in the fourth on a bases-loaded walk.  The Warriors added 2 runs in the bottom of the fourth, with Caleb Jones relieving Powell in the fifth and retiring the side in order.

The Warriors closed the show in the fifth, with an RBI double by Britton, a run-scoring sacrifice fly by Josh Jones, and an RBI single by Caleb Jones giving them the mercy-rule victory.

Powell allowed a single hit and an unearned run over four innings for the win, while striking-out 10 and walking five.  Powell, Britton, and Josh and Caleb Jones each had 2 hits to lead the Warriors.
