At 11 shots behind the leader, Emma Talley isn’t exactly in contention for the final round of the LPGA’s Bank of Hope Founders Cup in Phoenix. However, the Caldwell County alum is making a move up the leaderboard after a blistering 6-under–par 66 in third round action on Saturday.
Talley is now tied for 39th at 8-under for the tournament. She had five birdies and just one bogey on the front nine Saturday. She continued to play well on the back nine, recording three birdies and one bogey.
Talley will tee off at 12:45 p.m. Central time Sunday in the final round, with a chance to inch even higher on the leaderboard and increase her payday.
She opened the tourney with a 1-over 73 on Thursday before carding a 3-under 69 on Friday to make the cut by one shot.
Yu Liu leads the field at 19-under. Carlota Cinganda is second at 18-under while Angel Yin is third at 16-under.
