The Heritage Christian Academy girls’ basketball team held visiting Bethel Christian Academy to a single first-half point and led by 26 at the break, before cruising to a 45-6 victory in the opening game of the KCAA Region 1 tournament. The Lady Warriors will be back on the floor this evening when they square off with Oak Ridge.
Chelsea Dortch scored 8 first-quarter points to help the Lady Warriors to a 14-1 lead after one. HCA held Bethel scoreless in the second quarter, outscoring them by 13 for a 27-1 lead at halftime.
The Lady Warriors led 40-3 with one quarter to play, before taking their foot off the gas and easing to a 39-point victory.
Dortch led the way with 12 points, followed by Kinley Deason with 11. Ashton Craft added 6.
