In what should be a great precursor to the start of the 2019 high school football season, local officials have announced the creation of a two day passing tournament designed to draw teams from several states. The announcement was made Thursday that Christian County High School and Hopkinsville High School, along with the Hopkinsville Parks & Recreation Department, would be the hosts for the Best of the West 7-on-7 Passing Tournament.
The event is expected to draw 32 teams from Kentucky and surrounding states, with each team expected to play at least eight games. Officials say the games will be played on eight fields at the Stadium of Champions and Tie Breaker Park. There will be other activities in addition to the on the field action.
The tournament is slated for July 19 and 20.
