Trigg County’s offensive woes continued Friday as the Wildcats shot 28-percent from the field in a 64-55 loss at Crittenden County. Trigg falls into a third place tie in the district with the Rockets. Both have identical 1-4 records.

The Wildcats saw Crittenden County come out and hit six first half 3-pointers and build a 7-point lead midway through the second quarter. Kendric Adams scored nine first half points to keep the Wildcats within striking distance. They trailed Crittenden 24-21 at halftime and took a brief 35-34 lead with 1:33 left in the third quarter. However, Eric O’Leary scored five straight points to give Crittenden a lead they wouldn’t relinquish.

The Rockets began the fourth quarter with a 10-3 run, with sophomore Gabe Mott scoring eight of the ten points. The spurt put the game away as the Wildcats never got closer than six points the rest of the way.

Mott finished with 29 points, while O’Leary added 14 points.

Adams led Trigg County with 19 points and 13 rebounds. Kyron Grubbs added 11 points and four assists, while Trevor Cortner added nine points.

Trigg hit just 28-percent from the field and failed to score 60 points for the eighth straight game – all Wildcat losses.

Trigg County (6-13) will host Community Christian Saturday at noon in the first game of a boys/girls doubleheader at Wildcat Gym.
