2018 was a magical season for the brand of Kentucky football, as the Wildcats won 10 games for the first time since 1977 and achieved their first bowl game victory under head coach Mark Stoops. While their defensive unit led the way throughout the season, it was instead offensive coordinator Eddie Gran who reportedly received an intriguing offer on Thursday.
Kentucky Sports Radio reported that Gran had been offered the offensive coordinator position for the Georgia Bulldogs, a team that went 11-3 this season and finished tied for seventh in the final AP Top-25.
However, despite talented quarterback Jake Fromm and explosive five-star athletes at his disposal, Gran elected to remain with the University of Kentucky. Gran’s role will not change, as he’ll remain the offensive coordinator for the Wildcats.
Ultimately, the fact Gran chose to remain with head coach Mark Stoops & the Kentucky program for the same job he’d have with Georgia is a testament to just how much the Kentucky football culture has improved.
With quarterback Terry Wilson, wide receiver Lynn Bowden and running back AJ Rose all set to return next season, the Wildcats could put an extremely dynamic offense on the field.
