Christian County rallied in the second half to send their game with Muhlenberg County to overtime, but the Lady Mustangs prevailed 63-59 at the Queen of the Commonwealth at Bullitt East High School Friday.
Down 32-25 at halftime, the Lady Colonels outscored Muhlenberg 16-9 in the third quarter to tie the game at 41. Both teams scored 13 points in the fourth quarter to send the contest to the extra period.
Aaliyah Hampton led the Lady Colonels with 20 points and five steals. Talitha Bryant scored 13 points and grabbed nine rebounds, and Trinity McGee had seven points and seven rebounds.
Christian County shot just 34-percent from the field, including 3-of-19 from 3-point range.
Muhlenberg County (8-2) got 26 points and 11 rebounds from Elisabeth Joines.
Christian County (6-5) will play Ballard (3-5) Saturday afternoon at 4pm in the final game of the Queen of the Commonwealth.
