Ariyonna Johnson admitted she used volleyball as a way to take out some of the personal frustrations in her life on the opposition. Now, instead of the Eighth District, Johnson will take her frustrations out on the teams of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference.
The Christian County senior signed her letter to play volleyball at Kentucky State University Tuesday at the school. Johnson is a two-time all-district player for the Lady Colonels and led the team in kills each of the last two seasons.
Kentucky State University is an NCAA Division II school that advanced to the championship game of the Southern Intercollegiate Athletic Conference in 2018. The Thorobreds were 14-3 in the SIAC and 23-22 overall.
Johnson is part of the seven-member signing class for Kentucky State.
