
Caldwell County got as close as five points in the fourth quarter, but Webster County held on for a 61-49 triumph in the 6th/7th District Challenge on Saturday in Mortons Gap.
Webster, now 3-0, got 20 points from Tyler Camplin in the victory.
Destin Allen added 16 points and Hunter McNaughton had 15 for the Trojans, who led 31-26 at halftime and 45-36 through three quarters.
Jamarius Blaine had 15 points for Caldwell while Jabrion Spikes added 14.
But the Tigers fell to 0-3 after losses to Lyon County, Hopkinsville and Webster.
Caldwell battled Webster to a 17-17 deadlock after one quarter. But the Tigers couldn’t keep pace with the Trojans.
Webster outscored Caldwell by 10 points at the free-throw line. The Trojans made 13 of 16 attempts while the Tigers were just 3 of 9 at the stripe.
