Former Lady Tiger standout Katie Van Hooser had a pair of big games as the Bethel University volleyball team won its final two games of the regular season on Friday and Saturday.
First, Van Hooser recorded 35 assists and 18 digs as Bethel defeated Southern States Athletic Conference leader Martin Methodist in a five-set marathon, taking the fifth set 20-18.
Van Hooser, a junior at the McKenzie, Tenn. school, then had 31 assists and 11 digs on Saturday as Bethel defeated Faulkner in four sets.
The Lady Wildcats improved to 20-11 heading into the conference tournament, where Bethel is the No. 2 seed behind Martin Methodist.
Bethel has won its last six matches and 11 of its last 12 contests.
The SSAC Volleyball Championship begins Thursday in Montgomery, Ala.
