Former Caldwell Star Earns Mid-South Conference Honor

Former Caldwell County High School standout Jaylen Boyd, now at Lindsey Wilson College, was named a Mid-South Conference Football Bluegrass Division Player of the Week, conference officials announced on Monday.

Boyd earned Special Teams Player of the Week honors while Lindsey Wilson teammate Cameron Dukes was named Offensive Player of the Week.

Boyd returned a kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown in the Blue Raiders’ win over Thomas More. His score answered a Thomas More touchdown that cut the Lindsey Wilson lead to 14-7 late in the first quarter.

The junior from Princeton, Ky., and his 94-yard touchdown return matches the third-longest in program history.

He earns his second honor this season and the third of his career.

Meanwhile, passed for 406 yards and four touchdowns in Lindsey Wilson’s 55-21 win against Thomas More.

The Blue Raiders, up to No. 8 in the nation in NAIA football, return to action on Saturday, Oct. 26, when they take on Pikeville (Ky.) on the road at 5 p.m. Central time.
