Caldwell County took a big step toward securing a home playoff date on Friday, rallying from a 17-0 deficit to win 42-40 at Murray.
Murray visits Mayfield next week and could still create a three-way tie atop the Class 2A 1st District standings with an upset over the Cardinals.
Caldwell, now 7-2 overall and 3-1 in the district, is off next week before finishing the regular season at Trigg County on Nov. 1.
