Former Caldwell County football standout Jaylen Boyd had a 2-yard touchdown run as Lindsey Wilson College routed Cumberland (Tenn.) 48-6 on Saturday in Columbia, Ky.
Lindsey Wilson improved to 6-0 overall and 3-0 in the Bluegrass Division of the Mid-South Conference.
Boyd’s touchdown came in the first quarter, putting the first points of the day on the scoreboard for the Blue Raiders.
He carried the ball just eight times for 34 yards on Saturday and had two catches for 13 yards.
Boyd, a junior, has rushed for 458 yards and four touchdowns this season. He is averaging 7.8 yards a carry for LWC.
Boyd has caught 12 passes for 218 yards and two scores.
Boyd and the Blue Raiders return to the field this Saturday when then they travel to Thomas More University for a 12:30 p.m. Central time kickoff in Crestview Hills, Ky., near Covington.
