The girls’ 1st Region golf tournament was played Monday at Paxton Park Golf Course in Paducah.
Paducah St. Mary’s Margaret Butts claimed medalist honors with an even-par 71. That was one shot better than McCracken County’s Jessica Stephens.
Crittenden County’s Lauren Gilchrist and Lyon County’s Cathryn Brown both qualified for the state tournament next week as well. Gilchrist was third overall with a 74 while Brown tied for eighth with an 82.
Marshall County won the team title with a 325. Murray was runner-up at 336.
