Henderson County extended their unbeaten streak against region opponents to 50 games with a 10-0 win over Christian County Thursday at the Stadium of Champions.
Henderson last lost to a region opponent in the championship match of the 2014 region tourney. Madisonville beat the Lady Colonels 1-0.
On Thursday, Henderson took advantage of a depleted Christian County roster that has as many as six regulars out of action due to injuries.
Seven different players scored goals for Henderson County with Isabella McChessney and Maci Onstott each scoring twice. Abbey Roberts had a goal and two assists.
Henderson’s defense recorded their ninth shutout of the season and sixth in their last seven matches. Henderson improved to 14-1-1 on the season.
Christian County (3-12) will look to snap their eight-game losing streak Saturday when they play at Apollo, who has scored just one goal in ten losses this year.
The schedule favors Christian County over the final two weeks of the regular season with their opponents Apollo, St. Mary, Todd County Central, and Union County combining for a 17-37 record. The Lady Colonels just need some healthy players now to finish out the regular season.
