
Abbey Roberts’ seventh goal of the season came in the final six minutes and proved to be the only goal of the contest in a 1-0 Henderson County win over University Heights Academy Thursday in Henderson.
Both Henderson and UHA entered the game ranked in the top three in the region in defense. Henderson has allowed 0.6 goals per game, while UHA checked in at 1.2 allowed.
Roberts was able to poke home the game’s only goal to give Henderson County their eighth shutout win of the season and sixth in their last seven matches. The Lady Colonels are now 9-4-3 on the season and 5-0-1 against region opposition.
University Heights dropped to 6-4-2 with the loss. They will play the state’s top scoring team Saturday in Prestonsburg at the All-A Classic State Soccer Tournament in Frankfort.
