A good start did not translate into a good finish for the Heritage Christian Academy Lady Warriors Thursday night. After winning the opening set, the Lady Warriors dropped the next two to fall to Rossview 2-1 in a match that was shortened to best of three due to the late hour.
The match had originally been scheduled to be best 3 of 5, however, Rossview arrived with players for a previously unscheduled freshman match, which put the night running behind schedule from the very beginning.
Heritage Christian held off a late rally in the opening set to get the win 25-22 to go up 1-0 in the match.
Rossview took an early lead in the second set and never looked back, rolling to a 25-9 win to even the match at 1-1.
Rossview then closed out the match with a 25-20 win in the third set. Upon the end of the set, school officials decided that, due to the late hour of the evening, the match would end after 3 sets, with Rossview ahead 2-1.
