Hopkinsville continued to struggle to find the net in their 6-0 loss to Ohio County Tuesday at the Stadium of Champions.
In their three wins, Hoptown has scored 21 goals. In their four losses, they have scored just once. Not coincidentally, Hoptown’s latest drought comes after word that leading scorer Ana Hernandez will likely miss the rest of the season with a leg injury. The sophomore scored ten goals in the three games she played before the injury.
Hopkinsville’s defense has played well against solid competition, allowing 11 goals in four games to teams with a combined record of 11-5.
On Tuesday, Ohio County’s Carley Embry scored a natural hat trick and Kinsey Embry added a pair of second half goals as the Lady Eagles did a good job of controlling midfield for most of the contest.
Hoptown managed just five shots on goal in the contest.
The Lady Tigers (3-4) were scheduled to play Hopkins County Central Thursday, but that game has been canceled due to a scheduling conflict. Hoptown will instead play at Marshall County Tuesday.
