The Caldwell County community is still reeling from the death of football coach David Barnes Saturday morning.
As a player, Barnes held the Caldwell single-game rushing record for 34 years with 280 yards in a win over Crittenden County in 1976.
As a coach, Barnes gave one of his players the opportunity to break that record.
Former Tiger standout Brandon Sigler recalls the night Coach Barnes gave him the chance to rush for 329 yards against Reidland and eclipse Barnes in the Caldwell Record Book.
