Battling injuries that have cost them four players in the preseason, a short-handed Lyon County team fell to Grayson County 8-0 Thursday at the Paducah Tilghman Jamboree.
Grayson County, who was 11-8 last year in advancing to the Third Region semifinals, scored twice in the first ten minutes of the contest and held Lyon County to just three shots in the contest.
First-year Lyon County coach Michael Daily said four players did not play Thursday due to injury. While he said some could cause them to miss some regular season action, he added he didn’t think any of them were season-ending injuries.
Lyon County will have their annual Meet the Lyons Friday, Aug. 9.
