Emma Talley made a run at getting into the AIG Women’s British Open later this week, but fell just short in Final Qualifying at Ashridge Golf Club near London on Monday.

The AIG Women’s British Open begins Thursday just up the road from the Ashridge Golf Club at Woburn Golf Club.

Eleven spots were up for grabs in the Monday Qualifier, but Talley missed getting into a playoff for one of those spots by one shot. Nine players tied at 3-under-par 69 for the final three spots.

Talley shot a 2-under 70 in the qualifier. The former Caldwell County High School and University of Alabama standout shot a 3-under 32 on the front nine, but was 1-over on the back, carding one birdie but two bogeys on that side.

Next up for Talley is the Aberdeen Standard Investments Ladies Scottish Open Aug. 8-11. That event will be played at North Berwick, Scotland.
